Mr. Itemere  who is the Principal Secretary for the StateDepartment of Broadcasting and Telecommunication  was speaking  when he paid a courtesy call on the outgoing Kakamega County Information Officer, Ms. Roseland  Lumwamu.
The Principal Secretary at the same time explained that the government is on the watch out for people who may use the social media platforms to spread hate speech and any other material that could elicit ethnic animosity in the country.

He added that respective government agencies, including the Ministry of Interior and Co-ordination of National Government and the Media Council of Kenya are working together in monitoring the Information disseminated to the public.

He also called on eligible persons to enlist as voters to participate effectively in the forthcoming elections.
