Taskforce on the Improvement of Government Information and Public Communications
The Task Force on the Improvement of Government Information and Public Communications launched by the Cabinet Secretary for ICT, Mr. Joe Mucheru on 30th January 2019, has 15 members.
The Task Force, Chaired by Mr. David Makali, a veteran journalist, has three months to complete its assignment. The team is will collect and collate views on how to improve government information and public communications functions and to align them with emerging public sector dynamics and expectations.
Members of the taskforce include: Ms. Jane Gitau, the Secretary General, Public Relations Society of Kenya and also the Deputy Chairperson of the Task Force, Prof. Murej Mak’Ochieng of Multimedia University of Kenya, Abraham Mulwo, Head of the Department of Communication Studies at Moi University, journalist, Robin Njogu of the Royal Media Services, Alfred Nganga of Oxygene PR firm partner and Musembi Communication Management Specialist Ruth.
Other members that serve in the Task Force are; Mr. Mbugua Njoroge, a PR and communications practitioner, Mr. Paul Udoto, a Corporate Communications Manager at the Kenya Wildlife Service, Umi Wabomba, the Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager of Takaful, Mr. Brown Kutswa, Director of Communications at the Public Service Commission, Mr. Cosma Gatere, the Director of External Affairs at the Rift Valley Railways, Noella Mutanda,the Head of Corporate Communications at the Insurance Regulatory Authority, Mr. Ogaro Gwaro, the Director of Government Advertising Agency and Ms. Eunice Muthamia, the Acting Head of the Department of Public Communications.
Kennedy Buhere, Augustus Munywoki, Josephine Kinuthia and Charity Kagiri from the Ministry of ICT serve as the taskforce’s joint secretaries
