The government will soon set up a Constituency Innovation Hub (CIH) with internet connectivity at the Khwisero Sub county Headquarters in Kakamega County.

Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Innovation, Sammy Itemere said, the Hub will provide free internet access to public using the facility to enable them access online jobs and allow the obtain agribusiness and micro finance information.

Speaking when he met community leaders at the Khwisero Youth Polytechnic, Mr Itemere said the Hubs will be equipped with digital devices to enable the youth access tools to innovate and market creative ideas online to enable them earn income.

He said the government was committed to facilitating the establishment of the innovation hubs in all the 210 Constituencies in the country in a bid to transform the country into an information society and prepare citizens for a digital economy.

He called on youth to register for Ajira Digital jobs training being undertaken by the government in collaboration with the private sector and development partners for mentorship and to obtain skills and tools for on-line work.

The Principal Secretary called on residents of Western to support the government and its development programs geared towards turning the country into a middle-income economy by 2030.
