A Group of British investors are in the country to explore business opportunities. The Westminister Africa Business Group (WABG) brings together UK politicians and entrepreneurs with business interest in Africa.

Delegation leader, Laurence Robertson said they were interested in creating business opportunities and partnership in Kenya. He was speaking during a courtesy call on the Information Communication Technology Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru at Telposta Towers on 27th September 2016.
Mr. Robertson who is also MP of Tewkesbury of the UK parliament said his group comprises 70 Companies from the UK .

Mr. Mucheru explained that the Kenya government embraces Information Communication Technology in all its development programmes.

Mr. Mucheru emphasized that government ministries are promoting digitization and cited Konza Technopolis as a flagship project as indicative of Kenya’s determination to become an IT hub in the region. He added that the government has other IT initiatives such as Digital Literacy Programme (DLP), Presidential Digital Talent Program and the Constituency Digital Innovation Hubs projects aimed at enhancing ICT capacity and innovations.

Mr. Mucheru added that Kenya was working with regional partners to enhance digital development through the Smart Africa programme that promotes a single digital market of over 1 billion people.
