Former Broadcasting and Telecommunication Principal Secretary, Mr Sammy Itemere, today handed over to newly appointed Principal Secretary Mr. Jerome Ochieng.

Mr Itemere who served in the capacity for two years and seven months joined the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology from the Banking Sector. Mr Itemere had served as Chief Executive officer for the Kenya Commercial Branch in South Sudan and Equatorial Commercial Bank. The former PS  had also served at the Imperial Bank and Credit Bank Limited.

Addressing the staff of the Ministry of ICT during the handover ceremony, Mr Itemere thanked ministry staff and Departmental heads for their support noting that working with the team enriched his experience and facilitated efficiency.

“It was a privilege and joy serving in the government and I thank you for your support,” said Mr Itemere.

He called on public officers to focus on the government’s big four agenda and ensure they put in place strategies to ensure the country attains the objectives.

On his part, Mr Jerome Ochieng thanked Mr Itemere for his dedication to duty during his tenure and wished him well as he exits the public service.

Mr Ochien’g said it was important for those working in the public and private sector to create networks that help in mobilising support and resources for the success of development programs.
