Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Sammy Itemere today said the national government was committed to working with the county governments to promote standards of living through coordinated planning of development projects.

Mr. Itemere said transformation of the country will be achieved through joint efforts of the two levels of government to prioritize projects that directly generate employment opportunities and grow the economy.

Speaking in Bungoma today during a consultative meeting with stakeholders on 2018-2023 Medium Term Plan Mr. Itemere said counties need to expand infrastructural networks to facilitate communication and movement of goods and services.

The PS said, as the country prepares for general elections, the public should consider voting for competent leadership keen on planned development if they expect to achieve quality live and meet Vision 2030 goals.

He observed that for projects to meet the expectations of the public,it is important to allow for participate in the identification, design and implementation of the projects.

However, he pointed out that the government was facing challenges of acquiring land for flagship because of prohibitive costs.He said the high cost of land compensation had made implementation of public projects very expensive.
