Strengthening Public Awareness of the Government’s Agenda
This afternoon, the Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr. Stephen Isaboke, EBS, called on the Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua, at his office. The meeting focused on enhancing communication strategies and improving the visibility of national road infrastructure projects implemented under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
PS Isaboke underscored the critical role of communication in helping citizens understand the transformative impact of road development across the country. He noted that well-built roads are not merely physical connections but catalysts for economic and social transformation, linking communities to markets, improving access to essential services such as schools and healthcare and unlocking growth opportunities for households and businesses.
Both PSs emphasised the need for clear, timely and strategic public communication to showcase Government milestones, promote transparency and strengthen public confidence in ongoing infrastructure initiatives. This will also ensure that citizens are well-informed about the progress, benefits and timelines of road projects under BETA.
The two State Departments will continue to work jointly to enhance the visibility of flagship infrastructure interventions and strengthen public awareness of the Government’s agenda to modernise Kenya’s transport network.
