Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Digital Transformation
This morning, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy, H.E Hon. William Kabogo Gitau, EGH, held a meeting with a Japanese delegation led by Mr. Ren Ito, Co-founder and Chairman of Sakana AI, to explore strategic partnerships that will accelerate Kenya's digital transformation through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The discussion explored opportunities to collaborate on AI skills development through the planned 1,450 Digital Hubs across the country, ensuring that young people and professionals acquire the needed skills to thrive in the digital economy.
The discussions reaffirmed that AI is not just about improving productivity through digital tools, but about solving complex national challenges, creating jobs, enhancing public service delivery, and driving economic growth
They concluded with a shared commitment to establish a joint technical working team to develop practical AI solutions tailored to Kenya's development priorities while drawing on global best practices.
