Principal Secretary Advocates for Outcome-Based Work Plans in Performance Contracts
The Principal Secretary of the State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr. Stephen Isaboke, EBS, has emphasized the vital role of measurability in achieving results through Performance Contracting.
Addressing heads of departments within the State Department, the PS urged all teams to ensure that their PC commitments for the current financial year are not only clearly defined but also measurable.
“What gets measured, gets achieved in Performance Contracting. Conversely, what cannot be measured is difficult—if not impossible—to accomplish,” he said, stressing the importance of accountability and structured planning in delivering results.
He further highlighted the need for proper documentation and consistent reporting throughout the year.
“We must ensure that every activity we commit to is not only carried out but also recorded with verifiable evidence. We must track our progress regularly and avoid the pitfall of compiling reports only at the end of the financial year. Let us adopt a culture of quarterly reporting to ensure continuous performance tracking,” the PS stated.
His remarks form part of a broader effort to enhance transparency, efficiency, and outcomes across all departments within the State Department.
