Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Stephen Isaboke, Joins Dignitaries to Celebrate 100 Years of Kendu Adventist Hospital
A historic day is unfolding in Kendu Bay as Kendu Adventist Hospital marks its 100th anniversary with a grand centenary celebration. The festivities, currently underway, commemorate a century of dedicated healthcare service to the people of Homa Bay County and the wider region
Today, I am honored to join the celebration marking a significant milestone. This event has attracted notable guests, underscoring the national significance of the occasion and the enduring impact of Kendu Adventist Hospital on public health.
The event is being graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Raymond Omollo, PhD, CBS, Principal Secretary for the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration; Dr. Ouma Oluga, Principal Secretary for Medical Services at the Ministry of Health; and Ms. Mary Muthoni, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards. Their presence underscores the government’s strong support for and recognition of faith-based health institutions such as Kendu Adventist Hospital.
Others included Hon. Adipo Okuome, MP, Karachuonyo Constituency; Hon. Mark Nyamita, MP, Uriri Constituency; H.E. Oyugi Magwanga, Deputy Governor, Homa Bay County; Homabay County MP Hon.Dr.Joyce Atieno Osogo Bensuda and Dr. Richard Hart, President, Linda University, among others.
This celebration also reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to improving health outcomes across the country. Central to this commitment is the implementation of the Strategic Health Agenda (SHA) program, one of the key pillars guiding national health policy. The SHA program aims to strengthen healthcare delivery systems, enhance access to quality services, and promote sustainable partnerships between public and private sectors, including mission hospitals.
As Kendu Adventist Hospital marks 100 years of dedicated service, it stands as a powerful testament to the vital role mission-driven institutions play in Kenya’s healthcare landscape. Today’s celebration honors the past while inspiring continued commitment to serving the community with excellence, fully aligned with the government’s broader vision under the SHA program to ensure accessible, efficient, and quality healthcare for all Kenyans.
