Communication at the Core of Government Operations
Communication is at the core of Government’s operations to update the citizenry with the requisite information on rolled out projects and overall targets set to be achieved.
Speaking during a meeting with Heads of Departments (HoDs), Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Mr. Stephen Isaboke remarked that the Government is heavily reliant on communication to dispatch information on government services and achievements across the board.
The PS called upon Communication officials to consistently communicate all the facts related to Government achievements under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
“We now have to step up and communicate the truth, speak on what is being done.It is for the benefit of all Kenyans if we eliminate misinformation and disinformation through active communication,” the PS said.
PS Isaboke reiterated that under BETA Pillars and enablers, there are many positive initiatives that have been achieved and communicating about them builds the citizen’s information base on Government operations and increases citizen trust.
In addition, the PS was briefed on the Department’s achievements, implementation status of Presidential directives and status of Performance Contract (PC) targets.
