PS Isaboke plants a tree at Bogesaka DOK Primary and Junior High School

PS Isaboke Advances BETA Through Education and Community Partnerships

In a whole of Government, whole of society approach, Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr. Stephen Isaboke, EBS, led a series of development engagements in Kisii County over the weekend, underscoring the Government's commitment to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and community-driven development.

On Friday, the Principal Secretary presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Bogesaka DOK Primary and Junior Secondary School in Bobasi, Nyamache, Kisii County — a significant milestone for the PS, who is an alumnus of the institution.

The project, being implemented through a partnership with the MPESA Foundation, represents an investment of KSh 62 million and will deliver modern educational facilities including classrooms, an ICT laboratory, a science laboratory, an administration block, kitchen, ablution facilities, a playground and parking area. The school will also be equipped with furniture, ICT and laboratory equipment, as well as internet connectivity to support digital learning.

Expected to be completed by January 2027, the project will provide learners with a conducive and modern environment that supports academic excellence and nurtures future generations.

On Sunday, the Principal Secretary hosted fellow Principal Secretaries during Mass and Sadaka Maalum at St. Charles Ambrose Kabeo Catholic Parish in Masige East, Bobasi Constituency.

The event, which was graced by Kisii Governor H.E. Hon. Simba Arati and had Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga as Chief Guest, also served as a fundraiser in support of the church's development initiatives.

Speaking during the event, the Principal Secretary acknowledged the important role played by faith-based institutions in strengthening communities, promoting shared values and supporting social development.

The engagements brought together several senior Government officials, including Solicitor General Hon. Shadrack J. Mose; Principal Secretaries John Olultuaa (Basic Education), Cyrell Odede Wagunda (Public Investments), Joseph Motari (Social Protection), and Dr. Ouma Oluga (Medical Services); Communications Authority of Kenya Board Chairman Mr. Charles Karondo; and businessman Hon. Kevin Aruasa.

Also present were Members of Parliament Hon. Japheth Nyakundi (Kitutu Chache North), Hon. Alfah Miruka (Bomachoge Chache), Hon. John Bwire (Taveta), and Nominated Senator Hon. Essy Okenyuri, several MCAs and other distinguished leaders.

The engagements reflected the Government's continued focus on whole of Government, whole of society approach, investing in education, strengthening communities and fostering partnerships that contribute to inclusive national development.
