Ministry and University of Nairobi to Collaborate on BETA Research Communication
Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr. Stephen Isaboke, EBS, today hosted Prof. Leonida Kerubo, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Enterprise at the University of Nairobi, in his office.
The high-level engagement focused on forging partnerships in thought leadership to advance the government's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). Discussions emphasized the need for generating robust research and empirical evidence to assess the impacts of BETA programmes.
Both parties highlighted the critical role of effective communication in disseminating research findings to the public, thereby fostering greater understanding, transparency and accountability in Government initiatives.
The two agreed to formalise their cooperation through a collaborative agreement. This partnership aims to leverage academic expertise in producing evidence-based insights and strengthening public communication strategies under the BETA framework.
The development reflects broader efforts to bridge government institutions with leading academic bodies to support evidence-driven policymaking and enhanced public engagement on national economic transformation priorities.
