World Radio Day 2026

Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Mr Temesi Mukani, yesterday represented Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr Stephen Isaboke, EBS, at the World Radio Day 2026 celebrations in Nairobi, held under the theme “Radio and Artificial Intelligence: AI is a tool, not a voice.”

Radio today reaches over 30 million Kenyans, nearly eight in every ten adults, cutting across geographical, economic and social barriers. 

As we marked World Radio Day 2026, the State Department of Broadcasting and Telecommunications reaffirmed its commitment to a vibrant, innovative and trusted radio sector that supports Kenya’s digital transformation, strengthens democracy and leaves no Kenyan behind.
