PS Isaboke Meets NGAOs to Strengthen Grassroots Service Delivery in Kisii

Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr. Stephen Isaboke, EBS, has reaffirmed the Government's commitment to strengthening service delivery at the grassroots in line with H.E. President Dr William Samoei Ruto's call for a Whole-of-Government, Whole-of-Society approach to public service delivery

The Principal Secretary made the remarks during a consultative meeting with more than 60 NGAO Officers from Sameta and Nyamache Sub-Counties held at the Nyamache Deputy County Commissioner's Offices in Kisii County.

PS Isaboke was received by the Deputy County Commissioner for Nyamache, Mr. Stanislaus Apwokha, and the Assistant County Commissioner representing Sameta Sub-County, Ms. Philomena Kochulem.

The meeting provided a platform for NGAOs to share operational challenges affecting service delivery, particularly poor internet connectivity and inadequate ICT equipment. The Principal Secretary assured the officers that the Government is working to address these challenges as part of its broader agenda to enhance public service delivery through digital transformation.

He noted that reliable connectivity and access to modern ICT infrastructure are essential in enabling government officers to communicate effectively, access digital government platforms and deliver timely services to citizens.

“You are the backbone of Government administration at the grassroots. You play a critical role in coordinating security, linking citizens to essential government services, supporting the implementation of national development programmes and ensuring accurate government information reaches communities across the country,” he noted.

He further commended the officers for their dedication and service to the nation, reaffirming the Government's commitment to providing them with the digital infrastructure and technological tools necessary to improve efficiency and strengthen service delivery at the community level.

The engagement aligns with the Government's Digital Superhighway programme, which seeks to expand digital connectivity, bridge the digital divide and improve access to public services across the country through enhanced ICT infrastructure. It also aligns with H.E. President Dr William Ruto call for Government officials to embrace a Whole of Government, Whole of Society approach.
