PS Eng. John Tanui Presents Supplementary Budget Estimates to National Assembly Committee
Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui, appeared before the National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation to present the Supplementary Budget Estimates No. 1 for the State Department for ICT and the Digital Economy for FY 2025/2026. The session took place on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
Chaired by Hon. John Kiarie , the meeting was attended by Vice Chair Hon. Alfah Miruka Ondieki and committee members Hon. Bernard Kitur, Hon. Dr. Gideon Kimaiyo, Hon. Flowrence Jematiah , Hon. Mark Nyamita , Hon. Joseph Tonui, and Hon. Umulkher Harun Mohamed.
The Committee received briefings on key budget adjustments and their impact on flagship programs, including ongoing and upcoming policies such as the AI Policy Framework and Data Governance Policy.
In attendance were CEOs John Paul Okwiri, Jessy Kiveu Maruti, Immaculate Kassait, and Prof. Jennifer Khamasi; Senior Chief Finance Officer Mr. Richard Kerich; Secretary for ICT Infrastructure Washington Okoth; and other senior officials from the department.
