The Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy Eng.John Tanui, CBS today hosted a delegation from Botswana led by Sabdiyo Dido Bashuna, Kenyan High Commissioner to Botswana, for a courtesy call ahead of the UK–Kenya–Botswana Renewable Energy Knowledge Exchange Programme workshop in Nairobi.
The engagement provided an opportunity to reaffirm Kenya’s commitment to strengthening trilateral collaboration in advancing inclusive and sustainable clean energy solutions, particularly in solar and off-grid systems.
The delegation also included Director Lempaletse Matenge from the Ministry of Communications and Innovation, Botswana among others. Their insights enriched our discussions.
The delegation will visit key research and innovation institutions supporting Kenya’s clean energy and technology ecosystem, including the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS), the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). They will also engage with the private sector, including SunCulture, to explore scalable, market-driven solutions.
