CS Hon. William Kabogo Gitau affirms that a free and empowered media is the cornerstone of Kenya’s democracy.

The CS, who earlier today hosted Media Max Network Group CEO Ken Ngaruiya, assured that the government is fully committed to supporting the media industry.

CS Hon. Kabogo stated that he will work with all stakeholders to identify all available options to protect the media industry, “I will review the progress made by the Taskforce formed in 2023 to review the key laws within the sector and fast track the recommendations.”

On his part, Mr. Ngaruiya shared the challenges the media industry is facing due to dwindling profits which has affected their operations.

They further discussed the need to come up with policies to reinvigorate the media industry that has been affected by the dwindling profits partly occasioned by the shifts in technology.
