Government Communication Teams Urged to Drive Development Agenda
Government communication teams have been urged to adopt more strategic, proactive and inclusive approaches in communicating the Government’s development agenda.
Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Mr Stephen Isaboke, EBS, together with Principal Secretary for Agriculture Dr Kiprono Rono, engaged communication teams on the role of effective communication in advancing the Whole-of-Government approach.
The PSs emphasised the need for communicators across Ministries, Departments and Agencies to be proactive, innovative and deliberate in communicating Government programmes, services and opportunities.
They noted that effective communication requires a clear understanding of different audiences and their information needs, with communication tailored to reach each audience appropriately.
The engagement also underscored the importance of placing stakeholders at the centre of Government communication and ensuring that messaging is inclusive and accessible to all Kenyans.
The approach is expected to strengthen coordination among Government communication teams and ensure citizens receive timely and relevant information on Government initiatives and opportunities.
