Kenya reaffirms its commitment to advancing Africa’s digital transformation agenda

Kenya reaffirms its commitment to advancing Africa’s digital transformation agenda through strategic partnerships, infrastructure investment, research collaboration and responsible technology governance.
Earlier today, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Information, Communication and the Digital Economy, H.E, Hon. William Gitau Kabogo, EGH, officially opened a high-level Africa-Europe digital cooperation meeting in Nairobi, held alongside the Africa Forward Summit, bringing together delegates, development partners, innovators, policy leaders and researchers to advance discussions on the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure and global technological cooperation.
The CS emphasized that while Africa’s participation in technological advancement is already underway, the continent must now strengthen its capacity to build trusted infrastructure, support research, develop talent, protect data and actively shape global technology governance.
Kenya continues to expand national fibre connectivity, strengthen digital public infrastructure and improve access to online government services as part of efforts to position the country as a trusted regional hub for data, cloud computing and innovation.
