Kenya Strengthens Global Media Leadership at NAB Show 2026

Kenya continues to position itself at the forefront of global media transformation, with the Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Mr Temesi Mukani, representing Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr Stephen Isaboke, at the NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas, United States. The event, recognised as the world’s premier broadcasting conference, brings together industry leaders, regulators and innovators shaping the future of media.

Mr Mukani is part of a high-level Kenyan delegation engaging with global stakeholders on emerging trends redefining the media landscape. The discussions have focused on critical areas such as the application of artificial intelligence in newsrooms, cloud-based broadcasting systems, and evolving frameworks for digital platform governance. These engagements reflect Kenya’s proactive approach in not only adapting to change, but actively contributing to the direction of global media development.

The participation reinforces the Government’s commitment to strengthening Kenya’s media ecosystem through progressive policy, innovation and international collaboration. Insights gained from the conference are expected to inform ongoing efforts to modernise media laws, enhance regulatory frameworks and accelerate the country’s broader digital transformation agenda.

The delegation includes David Omwoyo, Chief Executive Officer of Media Council of Kenya; Hon. John Kiarie, Chair of the National Assembly Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation; and Mr Temesi Mukani, Secretary for Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry’s representative on the Media Council of Kenya Board.
