C.S William Kabogo Champions Youth Empowerment at Belgut Digital Innovation Event
Today, the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy (MICDE) H.E. Hon. William Kabogo Gitau had the great honor of serving as the Chief Guest at the Belgut Youth Digital Empowerment Programme, held at Belgut Technical Training Institute.
The CS was impressed by the vibrant young innovators, full of energy and vision, transforming bold ideas into real solutions that are already shaping their communities and the nation’s digital future.
Through digital jobs, creative industries, ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, the Government is creating opportunities that will define the future of work.
The CS stated that MICDE remains committed to addressing the critical issues of connectivity, skilling, and access to affordable devices, ensuring that both urban and rural communities are not left behind in the digital transformation journey.
CS Kabogo commended Members of the National Assembly for committing to use NG CDF funds to build Digital Hubs, which the Ministry has equipped to empower youth and give them space to turn their ideas to reality.
He reiterated that digital skilling of the youth, the laying of 100,000 km of fibre, and the establishment of Digital Hubs in every Ward is no longer just a dream — it is a journey that is well on course.
Indeed, content is king, and the Ministry will continue supporting more Kenyans in creating and monetizing their digital content, turning creativity and innovation into sustainable livelihoods.
In attendance were Hon. Nelson Koech MP Belgut Constituency; Hon. Ikana Fredrick MP Shinyalu Constituency, Lily Ng'ok, Board Chair, ICT Authority; Dennis Itumbi, Executive Office of the President; among others.
