2nd Edition of CyberGame Kenya Officially Launched

The Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui, CBS, has officiated the virtual opening of the 2026 edition of CyberGame Kenya.
CyberGame Kenya 2026, themed Securing Kenya’s Digital Future, commenced on 1st March 2026 and will run until 9th May 2026. It builds on the incredible momentum from last year’s inaugural event which revealed a nationwide hunger for cybersecurity excellence.
CyberGame Kenya brings together students, professionals, and cybersecurity enthusiasts in a competition featuring Capture The Flag (CTF)‑style challenges and capacity‑building activities aimed at strengthening Kenya’s digital security posture.
PS Tanui emphasized that the competition "is not a 'game' in the traditional sense" but a simulation of real cyber warfare, encouraging participants: "In the real world, that flag you are hunting represents a Kenyan’s bank account, a hospital’s patient records, or a government’s secret."
Among the distinguished attendees were H.E. Maroš Mitrík, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Kenya; Emmanuel Kata, Secretary, ICT Security Directorate; NC4 and Communications Authority of Kenya representatives; and State Department officers.
