Broadcasting and Telecommunications PS Leads NYOTA Project Verification Process in Kisii County
Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr. Stephen Isaboke, EBS, today led the verification process for the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project in Kisii County.
The exercise saw the PS visit constituencies, where he engaged with enthusiastic youth undergoing verification for the transformative programme. He commended the commitment of administration officers, including the county commissioner, deputy county commissioners, chiefs, sub-chiefs for their diligent coordination and support in ensuring the process runs smoothly.
During the visits, youth participants raised concerns about completing the Entrepreneurship Aptitude Test (EAT). The PS reiterated the announcement by the State Department of MSMEs that the challenges had been noted and the deadline extended to Saturday, 25th October, to allow all applicants adequate time to complete the test.
From the records, Kisii County recorded a total of 29,979 applicants in the programme.
PS Isaboke reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to empowering young people with the skills, tools and financial support they need to start businesses, create jobs and drive economic growth.
“The energy and enthusiasm of our youth are unmatched. The NYOTA project is more than an empowerment initiative. It’s a launchpad for Kenya’s next generation of entrepreneurs,” said PS Isaboke.
