Accelerating the Digital Transformation Agenda
The Government highly prioritises effective collaborations to attain the digital transformation agenda for capacity building and economic growth.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Hon. William Kabogo Gitau, E.G.H. met a delegation from World Bank led by World Bank Division Director for Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia and Uganda, Qimiao Fao.
They discussed the digital transformation agenda and progress of the ongoing Kenya Digital Economy Acceleration Project (KDEAP).
KDEAP is a World Bank-supported initiative focused on transforming Kenya into a regional digital hub through expansion of high-speed broadband to underserved areas, digitizing government services, improving digital literacy, increasing Last-Mile connectivity, enhancing regional digital infrastructure and data governance.
Further, the leaders touched base on the Government's strategic policy priorities for digital transformation and charted the way forward on the implementation of KDEAP projects.
Present were ICT and Digital Economy Principal Secretary, Eng. John Tanui, Digital Development Practice Manager for Africa and the Middle East, Michel Rogy, World Bank Senior Digital Specialist, Aneliya Muller, World Bank Lead Digital Development Specialist, Dr Tim Kelly, Ag. ICTA CEO, Zilpher Owiti and other key officials.
